Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Mar Roxas is set to launch the second phase of the installation of CCTV (closed circuit television) cameras under Project SAFE KAm this time in Caloocan City on Wednesday, June 24.
Roxas will be joined by National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Carmelo Valmoria during the launch and presentation at the Luk Foo restaurant in Monumento, Caloocan City, at 12:00 p.m.
Under the auspices of Oplan Lambat Sibat, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is spearheading the installation of CCTVs in key areas and busy intersections in Metro Manila including Monumento to monitor and help deter crimes.
Oplan Lambat Sibat is a deliberate, programmatic, and sustained approach employed by the PNP to fight crime. This approach has already decreased crime in Metro Manila by more than 60 percent since its implementation in June 2014.
Last May, Secretary Roxas launched the first phase of PNP SAFE KAm following the installation of CCTV cameras in EDSA-Taft intersection in Pasay City.
